#ScalingOurLegacy - GTC Celebrates 25 + years of Service

On 1st January 2019, Med-Di-Dia started its journey with Galway Technology Centre. Since then, GTC has hosted our office with warm hospitality and a wealth of support. GTC has been our constant partner introducing us to various opportunities to establish a strong network.
Recently, the Galway Technology Centre celebrated its 25+ years of service with a unique virtual event: #ScalingOurLegacy. This event had various live and pre-recorded sessions with eminent speakers and well-wishers. Galway City Council’s Mayor, Cllr. Mike Cubbard inaugurated the session and shared the regional developmental importance of GTC.
Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment TD Leo Varadkar congratulated GTC and described the success of Galway Technology Centre over the last 25 years highlighting the creation of many jobs and attracting FDI companies into Galway.
GTC’s Chairperson Frank Greene took everyone down memory lane and spoke about the journey. Whilst describing this journey, Med-Di-Dia's name was highlighted. Various panellists, including John Brennan @West_BIC, JP Gilmartin @GalwayChamber, David Stafford @sirensearch, Brenda Dooley @AXISConsultLTD & Mark Quick @9thimpact presented their own journeys and impressions of the GTC.
Plans for the Galway Technology Centre’s building expansion were introduced where David Minton placed emphasis on the Global Technology Centre. Presidents of NUI Galway and GMIT presented their views on GTC’s socio Economic importance and job creation.
@BredaFox of Local Enterprise Office, Galway spoke about the relationship between the GTC and the Local Enterprise Office, and the success of the businesses who have had the support of both organisations over the years. She briefly mentioned Med-Di-Dia's relationship with these organisations.
Galway Technology Centre's Acting Manager, Noreen Conway, gave a run-through on the #AcademyWest project acknowledging the support of Enterprise Ireland where Meabh Conaghan, Regional Director West Region for Enterprise Ireland spoke about the importance of investment support provided in this Venture.
"Since its inception, GTC has supported 300 companies, 3,000 jobs and generated €1.3 billion GBA for the Western Region." Minister Hildegarde Naughton TD congratulated GTC headlining the impact of Galway Technology Centre on Galway and the region.
